you were born with an old soul new face same disposition conveying your lack of thought is hard enough hold back tears you've done it for so many years through you're waving you white flag
quiet nights sleep filled days memories have all but been erased take stock of current events with your head in your pillow heavy with regret try harder then you have before to peak out of that cellar door
we all can't be scholars working class folk ones that die early have their life revoked push yourself to your grave with missed chances for living like a slave what do you wish to become better hurry before your time comes
i dont wish to be anything i'm not i don't want to have this failure of a heart please please would you please forgive me if you can i'm just a simple shadow of a man |

when explinations don't come to the people that are wanting one sometimes it's better to forget those apologize you won't receive burried in the people you plead sometimes it's better to forget
struggle with all your might i'm just gonna lay my head down tonight under the dark light
people will never speak the truth no matter how much you want them to sometimes it's better to forgive the price you pay isn't near enough today for the things we do and say sometimes it's better to forgive
all your ill will might i'm just gonna lay my head down tonight under the dark light
in the end we get the same rich or poor we're all to blame sometimes it's better to not know at all in the begginning we're all the same faces feet hands no kind of shame sometimes it's better to not know at all
lessons teach us you think they might i'm just gonna lay my head down tonight under the dark light |
